Like most people, I wear many hats! I am a wife, and mother. I am the founder and president of a charity, I am also a part-time executive assistant, and full-time inquirer! I love to know things – especially about what makes people who they are. I love each of my roles as they all fulfill me in different ways and ignite passion within me.
My faith is central to who I am. It has been through my journey over the last few years of learning more about who Jesus is to me, that I have found out who I really am. I have learned that religion is empty without relationship.
The first boy to steal my heart was Austin. I had him when I was in high school and he is now 20 (please don’t do the math!). I learned so much from being a young, single mom. He has been in my life longer than he hasn’t, and so much of who I am today is credited to my boy (all forthcoming grey hair included). It is delightful getting to watch him grow into an exceptional man.
Alexa is 11 years old and she is the light of my life. She is kind and generous beyond her years, she is secure in who she is, and she will change the world. Alexa has a way of touching my very soul. Nixon is 8 and is a beautiful combination of tough and tender. He has an imagination like no other and his compassion is remarkable. Safe to say, he holds the key to his momma’s heart.
Experience Kaleo is a charity I started because I wanted to bring love and hope and connection into my community. Kaleo is based on the Christian fundamental principal of loving your neighbour. We host a mommy meet up group every week, monthly prayer nights and we bring in guest speakers. We also love to throw a good party and organize the St. Albert Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, Love You Mama (for single mothers) and a community BBQ – all for free.
I have been Bruce A. Saville’s executive assistant for 12 years. Bruce is a one-of-a-kind human being. He is a shrewd businessman and kind-hearted philanthropist. Bruce has taught me about generosity and the importance of giving back to your community. He is more than just my boss, he is my mentor and friend.
My favorite hat to wear is being a mom. Having been a young mom, a single mom, a married mom, a working mom, a stay at home mom, and a legal guardian, I have experiences all over the map! I have learned many things about life and about who I am. I believe everything comes down to love; loving yourself more, loving others deeper, and to find joy in the world by looking at it through the eyes of love. May you find that here.
Thank you for being a part of my journey.
